In any game spoting a team in this case runs early makes it real tough to come back. Tigers starter Max Scherzer through alot of pitches early and the Mariners hit them for runs and a 7-4 victory.

Seattle led 4-0 until the Tigers put a run in the bottom of the third inning off the bat of Brennan Boesch cutting their lead to 4-1. Then in the bottom of the fourth Miguel Cabrera hit his fifth homer of the season a two run shot to a 4-3 Mariners lead and that was as close as they came.

Scherzer went five innings allowing five and ten hits throwing 103 pitches while the bullpen went the rest of the way allowing two runs and five hits.

Tigers standed key baserunners in the seventh and eighth innings equaling to no runs and a frustrating loss. Game Two of the series tomorrow night in Comerica ark Game Time 7:05pm
