Prince Fielder hit a tiebreaking single in the eighth inning to give the Tigers a come-from-behind victory over the Twins 7-6 on a rainy Thursday night in the motor city. Miguel Cabrera drove in three runs, including a home run in the second inning. Tiger starter Rick Porcello was tagged for five runs on ten hits in five innings of work and left the game trailing 5-3 giving him a no-decision. Detroit's bullpen held on allowing only one run through the next four innings, a home run from Josh Willingham, his second of the game, off of Darin Downs in the seventh. Jose Valverde picked up his fifth save of the season striking out two in the ninth inning. The Tigers will send RHP Anibal Sanchez (4-4, 2.77) to the hill against RHP Samuel Deduno (0-0, 0.00) on Friday night in game two of the four game set.
