The Tigers score three runs in the eighth leading to a 7-5 win over the Boston Red Sox taking three out of four in the series. Justin Verlander pitched five innings allowing four runs and seven hits throwing 112 pitches.

The game was tied at four in the seventh when Jhonny Peralta has hit by a Andrew Miller pitch scoring a run. Prince Fielder's two run
single increased the lead to 7-4.

Joaquin Benoit (2-0) got one out in the eighth and pitched the ninth. Detroit now four games ahead of the Indians for Top Spot in the America League Central
