SEATTLE SEAHAWKS - SUPER BOWL XLVIII CHAMPIONS!

Post  Admin on Mon Feb 03, 2014 2:50 am

Thanks to the contributions on offense, defense, & special teams, the Seattle Seahawks went into MetLife Stadium in East Rutherford, New Jersey and humiliated the Denver Broncos, 43-8, to become Super Bowl champions for the first time ever in franchise history.

Highlighting Seattle's dominating win was a 69-yard interception return for a touchdown late in the 2nd quarter by linebacker & Super Bowl XLVIII MVP Malcolm Smith and Percy Harvin's 87-yard kickoff return for a touchdown to open the second half.

12 seconds into the game on the first play, Seattle scored on a safety to make it the quickest score in Super Bowl history, beating Chicago's Devin Hester's kickoff return to open the 2007 game - against Peyton Manning's Indianapolis Colts.

A Super Bowl parade is set for this Wednesday at 11 am local time in which Seattle will celebrate a championship since the NBA's SuperSonics (now known as the Oklahoma City Thunder) did it in their 1978-79 season.
