Shayne Davern ran for a career-high 101 yards and two touchdowns as the Air Force Falcons defeated the Western Michigan Broncos, 38-24 at the Famous Idaho Potato Bowl in Boise. Western Michigan finished 8-5 after going 1-11 last season and the loss dropped the program's postseason record to 0-6.

Terrance Broadway set an NCAA Division I bowl game record by completing his first 14 passes, finishing with 227 yards, and a touchdown to lead the Louisiana-Lafayette Ragin' Cajuns past the Nevada Wolfpack, 16-3, at the New Orleans Bowl. Hunter Stover made a career-long 46-yard field goal in the 1st half for UL-Lafayette (9-4), who completed their fourth consecutive nine-victory season with their fourth straight New Orleans Bowl win.

Nick Vigil ran for a touchdown and combined with his brother, Zach, to make 16 tackles as the Utah State Aggies shut down the UTEP Miners, 21-6, at the New Mexico Bowl. The Vigils, a pair of linebackers who had combined for 551 career tackles to rank first at the FBS level among active brothers, helped hold UTEP to 149 rushing yards and no touchdowns. Utah State (10-4) won a bowl game for the third straight year while UTEP (7-6) is 0-6 in postseason play since winning the 1967 Sun Bowl.

Travis Wilson rushed for a season-best 91 yards, scored three touchdowns, and passed for another as the Utah Utes dominated the Colorado State Rams, 45-10, at the Las Vegas Bowl. The Utes have now won 11 of their last 12 bowl games.

Roger Lewis caught a 78-yard touchdown pass from James Knapke with 1:04 remaining in the game to bring the Bowling Green Falcons to a 33-28 victory over the South Alabama Jaguars at the inaugural Camellia Bowl in Montogomery, Alabama. This was the Jaguars (6-7) first bowl game since starting their football program in 2009.
