Except in Kalamazoo, four cities get overtime fever

With new U-M head football coach Jim Harbaugh in attendance, the Michigan Wolverines erased a 13-point deficit midway through the 2nd half to earn a hard-fought 73-65 victory in overtime against the Illinois Fighting Illini. Aubrey Dawkins scored 17 of his game-high 20 points for U-M after halftime. His previous career-high was five points.

Ricky Doyle finished with 13 points for Michigan and helped close out regulation with seven consecutive points, including a key free throw that sent the game into overtime. The Wolverines will hit the road to start off 2015, beginning with this Saturday afternoon when they travel to Purdue to face the Boilermakers at 2:15 pm.

Sophomore Haleigh Ristovski led four Titans in double figures as Detroit erased a 15-point 2nd-half deficit to send the game to overtime, but fell flat to the Eastern Michigan Eagles, 75-71, in Ypsilanti.

Ristovski tied her career highs with a game-best 20 points and a team-high 12 rebounds for her fourth double-double of the season. Redshirt sophomore Rosanna Reynolds had 19 points and 10 rebounds for the third double-double in her career, while also adding a team-high five assists.

The Titans will be back in action at Calihan Hall next Wednesday (1/7) to begin Horizon League play when they host Milwaukee at 7 pm.
