Raw - February 21, 2011 - Fresno, CA

Post  Admin on Tue Feb 22, 2011 3:41 am

After a wild night at the Elimination Chamber, Raw was just as wild as John Cena, the #1 contender for The Miz's WWE Championship, went back to his "thuganomics" mode to fire back at the comments against him made by The Rock last week.

Still sore from their match inside the chamber last night, CM Punk & John Morrison competed in one-on-one action. Morrison tried his best, but with a damaged knee, CM Punk took advantage and ended the match with GTS. Afterwards, Punk warned Randy Orton not to show up next week on Raw. Instead, Orton ran down and attacked Punk, but when he went for the RKO, Punk slipped outside to the rest of the Nexus as Orton stood in the ring, ready to fight.

As Alberto Del Rio came down to compete, Kofi Kingston ran down and assaulted Del Rio for a little payback from last night. However, with a little help from Del Rio's personal ring announcer, Ricardo Rodriguez, Alberto returned the favor by clamping on the cross armbreaker. Afterwards, as the doctors were helping Kofi up, Alberto turned around & shoved Kofi's arm hard into the post. There is a chance Kofi may be out of action for a while.

Before the next match began, the RAW GM announced that the WWE Tag Team Championship would be on the line later that night with the new champs, Heath Slater & Justin Gabriel taking on WWE Champion The Miz & John Cena! Moments later, a divas tag team match was underway as Divas Champion Eve teamed up with Gail Kim to take on the Bella Twins. A spirited match, but with the Bellas doing the switch, they managed to, once again, steal another victory.

For several weeks, a message of 2.21.11 would appear and with a countdown & the song lyrics "Ain't no grave can hold my body down", the fans were greeted with the return of The Undertaker! However, the moment The Undertaker took off his hat, another superstar from the past made a suprise appearance: The Game, Triple H! As the two men stared at the WrestleMania XXVII logo, a non-verbal challenge was made & accepted.

In a grudge match, King Sheamus took on Mark Henry. A rough match for both superstars, but after Sheamus pulled off the turnbuckle to do more damage, Mark Henry made him pay for it by squashing him in the exposed corner & finished him off with the world's strongest slam.

Michael Cole attempted to conduct an interview with Jerry "The King" Lawler, but when Cole made reference to his mother, who recently passed away, Lawler had enough & challenged Cole to a match at WrestleMania. After Cole walked back to the announce table, trying to ignore the challenge, he splashed water in The King's face before running off into the crowd. Needless to say, fans could now enjoy Raw without the voice of Michael Cole for the rest of the night.

In the main event, the WWE Tag Team titles were on the line. Almost single-handedly, The Miz, using the skull crushing finale on Justin Gabriel, won the tag titles & celebrated (sort of) with John Cena. Moments later, Wade Barrett demanded that his Corre members get a title rematch on the spot. With the approval of the Raw GM, the match was on. This time, John Cena was about to deliver the attitude adjustment to Heath Slater, but The Miz snuck up behind Cena and delivered another skull crushing finale, allowing Slater & Gabriel to regain their tag team titles.
