Nothing! MSU gets shut down by Alabama in Cotton Bowl, 38-0

In what was meant to be a close playoff game at the Cotton Bowl, it instead turned into a disaster as the Alabama Crimson Tide shutout the Michigan State Spartans, 38-0, in the semifinal of the College Football Playoffs. It was the largest shutout in Cotton Bowl history.

MSU quarterback Connor Cook was sacked four times, but managed to get the Spartans to the red zone once, only to be intercepted at the goal line by Alabama's Cyrus Jones.

While State goes home to East Lansing dejected, Alabama moves on the national championship game next Monday (Jan. 11) to face Clemson, who knocked out Oklahoma in the other semifinal game at the Orange Bowl, 37-17.
