At Coors Field, you expect a great deal of hits & homeruns. It was no exception for the Detroit Tigers, although this time, they were the victims.

Carlos Gonzalez had a homerun & four RBIs and Chris Nelson hit a three-run homer as the Tigers lost to the Colorado Rockies, 13-6, in the first game of their interleague series in Denver.

Colorado's Charlie Blackmon had four hits & two runs driven in and Todd Helton & Seth Smith each had two for Colorado, who had 14 hits, six for extra bases.

Tigers' starting pitcher, Rick Porcello (6-5) went just three innings and gave up nine runs (seven earned) on eight hits & two walks on just 58 pitches.

Down 11-1 after five innings, the Tigers crept closer in the sixth. Victor Martinez and Magglio OrdoƱez got it going with consecutive one-out singles. Alex Avila then walked to load the bases and Jhonny Peralta cleared them with a grand slam over the leftfield fence.
